Mandate:
GSC-Québec is one of the six divisions of the Geological Survey of Canada. It is responsible for the Land and Minerals Sector's environmental and groundwater geoscience programs, as well as strategic liaison with the provinces of Quebec and New Brunswick. GSC-Québec and the Eau Terre Environnement Research Center at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) are partners in a collaborative agreement that contributes to NRCan's strategic priorities by encouraging participation in joint research, training, mentoring, visibility and geoscience awareness initiatives. GSC-Québec's scientific activities are supported by in-house stable isotope geochemistry (Delta-Lab) and digital mapping and photogrammetry (LCNP) laboratories. In addition, the partnership with INRS allows access to an array of analytical equipment and tools among the most comprehensive and flexible in Canada.
