How to Use This Service

Step 1: Select your location.

For the pilot for natural resource industries, we developed the toolkit for two regions. Choose between Thompson-Nicola Regional District in BC or the unincorporated areas (outside of towns and cities) in the Yukon Territory.

Step 2: Select an industry activity.

The pilot project focused on two natural resource business types: select either wind power development or mineral exploration.

Step 3: Answer questions about your business.

Once a location and an industry are selected, the wizard will ask you a number of questions about the activities that will be required for your business type. If you are unsure what the question means, try clicking on the help button for definitions or extra information to clarify the question. You must click either 'yes' or 'no' for each question before proceeding. If you are unsure, we suggest you click 'yes' so that the output includes the most comprehensive list of approvals.

Step 4: Output.

BizPaL+ will provide you with: a summary of your answers; a list of permits, licences and other approvals required based on your answers, and information about each requirement. Links to find relevant forms or websites and contact information is provided for you to determine who to contact and how to find application forms. Be sure to read the general and sector notes for additional guidance and helpful information.

Print the output for future reference. Or copy and paste it into a document to save it on your computer.
