Mandate:
GSC Pacific is responsible for investigating and reporting on geoscience data for the Canadian Cordillera. Within the Energy Program, GSC Pacific leads an initiative to evaluate the resource potential of offshore gas hydrates. The Division is also responsible for the national seismological and geomagnetic observatories, as well as for research on earthquakes, magnetic hazards, and west coast seabed natural hazards.
